You’ll spend the first two years of your apprenticeship at the Ruag AG Apprentice Center in Emmen. There, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of the automation technician trade and reinforce them through exciting hands-on exercises. You’ll also get to enjoy fun apprentice camps and a learning-friendly environment designed specifically for apprentices.

After successfully passing the intermediate exam at the end of your second year of apprenticeship, you’ll begin the second half of your training at our company, Soldati AG. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to apply and further deepen the knowledge you’ve already acquired through hands-on work on highly exciting special-purpose machines. Of course, you’ll also develop additional skills along the way. From designing and planning control systems and drawing schematics in CAD, to assembling and wiring control cabinets, all the way to developing and programming software—everything happens in-house. Thanks to this high level of vertical integration in control system engineering, you’ll be right in the thick of things, learning firsthand how a control system is created and put into operation. Of course, you won’t just be watching—you’ll be actively involved in the process and will have the chance to make your first mark in the world of bits and bytes.

Creativity meets technology: As a design engineer, you bring ideas to life. You plan and design complex products and systems using 3D software. Whether it’s components for vehicles, machines, or even entire production facilities—you’re involved from the very beginning and help shape the future.

Your Path to an Apprenticeship
The apprenticeship lasts 4 years and includes both practical and theoretical components. 

The first two years of your apprenticeship consist largely of exciting and varied inter-company courses (inter-company courses). These courses include both theoretical and practical components and provide you with the foundational knowledge of a design engineer. You’ll complete the theoretical courses at Schindler’s training center in Ebikon. And at RUAG in Emmen, you’ll gain practical expertise through a six-month workshop internship.
 
By the end of your apprenticeship, you will not only have acquired the necessary foundational knowledge but also gained practical experience that will make you a sought-after expert in the industry.
